Guided Walks in Roman Verulamium
The Roman Theatre
This is one of the finest examples of a Roman Theatre in Britain. Also within the site are the remains of a 3rd century townhouse, with an underground shrine as well as a parade of shops facing onto Watling Street. Guides are present on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from April 4th to October 25th between 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Also between 11am and 1pm on Sundays from 28th June and 30th August, and for the August Bank Holiday Monday.
Talks on Roman Britain
We give short illustrated talks on topics concerned with Verulamium and the Roman world in the Lecture Room at Verulamium Museum at 3:00pm on either Saturdays
or Sundays. An entrance fee is payable at the Museum for visitors from outside the St Albans District Council area. Our talks are free.
Verulamium in a Nutshell
This free walk combines the Roman Theatre with Verulamium Park and its hidden Roman Town. Next dates in 2010 are 11am Saturday 11th September and 3pm 12th September.
