Coming to St Albans by Train
St Albans City station is 20 minutes by train from central London. From Blackfriars, Farringdon or St Pancras International stations, take a Thameslink train heading north. Alight at St Albans City station, and head for the exit on Platform 1. From there, bear right and over the bridge, and continue along Victoria Street over three sets of traffic lights, until you see St Albans Museum+Gallery in front of you. The walk takes around 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, take a taxi from the station entrance and ask to be dropped at the Museum+Gallery (Old Town Hall) in St Peter's Street, or one of several buses going along Victoria Street. There are information boards at the station.

St Albans Abbey station is the terminus of the branch line from Watford Junction. If using this station, come out onto the main road and turn right to walk up Holywell Hill. Cross over at the lights at the Peahen Junction, and the Museum+Gallery is on the left as you walk up Chequer Street.

For the Roman City Revealed and St Michaels to Fishpool Street walks, you can either take a taxi from the station and ask to be dropped at Verulamium Museum, or take the Number 300 bus to St Michael's Village. 

Coming to St Albans by Car
The city centre has several car parks which are convenient for the start point outside the Museum+Gallery. There is a multi-storey in Drovers Way (AL3 5EB) and a surface level car park in London Road (AL1 1NG).

For the Roman City Revealed and St Michaels to Fishpool Street walks, use the surface level car park outside Verulamium Museum (AL3 4SW). Please note that this can get very busy in the summer months, so allow plenty of time to find a parking space.
